About Blake Meehan
Two push mowers. A fledgling business. And a love of lawn care and landscaping. That describes Blake Meehan at age 16. And he’s never looked back. Since then, Blake has built the most talented and reliable outdoor beautification team in Pittsburgh.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Blake’s other passion is Italian cooking, especially red sauces. He makes wine, too. No wonder he built a beautiful backyard pizza oven for his home.

Don't neglect outside landscaping
You live inside your home. But everyone else sees the outside. Our regularly scheduled landscaping maintenance will set your home apart from neighbors. Plus, by allowing us to consistently take care of your landscaping, little issues won’t turn into big problems. So, you’ll end up saving money, too.
Use sprinklers
wisely.
Many homeowners turn sprinklers on in the spring and don’t turn them off until fall. This drives up your water bill. Plus, too much water isn’t good for your lawn. (How many times have you seen sprinklers running while it’s raining?) It’s no good for us either. A sodden lawn needs to dry out before we cut it. Better to use your sprinklers only when you need them. And if your lawn is parched, run sprinklers at night when water can soak into the ground instead of evaporating into the air.
Don’t wait to
remove fall leaves.
We remove a lot of leaves after they’ve all fallen. But we’d rather remove them across a few short weeks. Letting too many leaves hit the ground can smother your lawn and landscaping, leading to weakened plants heading into winter. Plus, too many leaves trap in moisture. This creates snow mold and can attract rodents.
Landscape
lighting.
Outdoor lighting doesn’t just enhance curb appeal, it makes your outdoor space more inviting. In fact, 50% of homeowners believe outdoor lighting makes their property more livable. Plus, it’s a big boost to home security.
We provide expert residential and commercial lawn and landscape maintenance, outdoor living space planning and construction, hardscaping such as paths and walkways, concrete work including stamped concrete and water drainage management, including french drains.
Yes. Our lawn maintenance contract combines of all the services that you want us to complete, such as weekly mowing, mulching, edging, shrub trimming, fertilizing, spring, fall clean up, etc. We provide you with a total price for the year then divide it into 8 monthly payments (April-Nov.) It’s a great way to complete all your landscape maintenance needs and budget your costs.
We accept check, credit card and cash. Based on your preference, we can send you either an emailed or paper invoice.
It all depends on the type and scope of work you want. We offer weekly mowing services, typically arriving at your property on the same day each week (weather permitting). We can complete shrub trimming late spring through November. (Many customers prefer to have their shrubs trimmed once in the spring and again late summer.) We perform landscaping and outdoor living projects year-round as long weather permits. We do mulching any time of year. Hardscaping and concrete work is typically completed between March and November.
Please, contact us via email or phone. In fact, just click here if you’d like to request a consultation. We’d love to set up a meeting and discuss what you want.
Hey, we love dogs! But it’s hard to tackle the work you want when a pooch wishes to play fetch. So please take your pets inside before we’re scheduled to arrive. Also, please pick up any doggie toys and poop so they don’t end up part of your landscaping, too.
You bet! We’re both independent and proud to be a Pittsburgh outfit!
No. We’ll take care of everything you want done while you’re running errands, at work or having coffee with a friend.
Yes. Super wet grass gets matted down instead of standing up. So, you end up with an uneven cut. Plus, mower blades tear wet grass instead of cutting it. This usually leads to brown ends on your grass. Finally, our mowers can leave indentions in sodden soil – and we know you don’t want that. But don’t worry. We follow up quickly to get the job done after a rain delay.
It’s highly unlikely that you will. But if you do, Blake Meehan himself will handle it. All of Meehan Lawn Care clients have Blake’s cell number. But usually, they only call to say what a great job the Meehan Lawn Care crew had done!
